New Image Tattoo Holiday Fundraiser will benefit MRAAA

New Image Tattoo Studio staff member Jess Hoyt, left, and owner Chris Shaffer, have put up their fundraising Christmas Tree at the studio in support of MRAAA.

CLEARFIELD – Artists at New Image Tattoo Studio in Clearfield will leave their mark on seniors this holiday season by supporting services offered by Mature Resources Area Agency on Aging.

Studio Owner Christina Shaffer has chosen to support MRAAA this year with the annual New Image Holiday Fundraiser.

Ornaments are available for purchase at the New Image studio, 15196 Clearfield/Shawville Hwy., Clearfield, PA, at the Sapp Bros. Truckstop.

For $5 apiece, purchasers will have a chance to place their name on an ornament and hang it on the studio’s Christmas Tree. A winner will be drawn at random to receive a $100 gift certificate for New Image, and will be announced in early January.

All proceeds from ornament sales will benefit MRAAA, helping the agency to continue offering aid to seniors in need. At this time of year, assistance with heating and electricity bills, as well as warm clothing and meals, are among the needs of greatest importance.

New Image will also collect items to further help meet these needs, including, but not limited to, donations for fuel assistance, coats, gloves, scarves, socks and personal hygiene products.

“We wanted to do something for people in our community; something with a local impact that helps people right here in our area,” Shaffer said of the inspiration to begin this fundraising effort.

She noted that she and staff members at New Image have raised funds for various community organizations for the past 10 years, since the holiday fundraiser’s inception.

Staff choose a different organization each year as the recipient of the goodwill of New Image customers. Over the last decade those organizations have included the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic, Little Bags of Sunshine, the Child Advocacy Center, Pennsylvania Veterans Affairs, Clearfield-Jefferson Suicide Prevention and more.

New Image Tattoo will also participate in MRAAA’s Giving Tree for 2023, hosting tags on their Christmas Tree at the studio that list the needs of area senior citizens.

All members of the public are encouraged to take a tag, purchase the gift listed on the tag for an area senior, and drop the gift off at an MRAAA office in Clearfield or Curwensville. All Giving Tree locations will be announced later in November.

New Image Tattoo Studio has operated since 2000. For more information on their holiday fundraising efforts and support of MRAAA contact the studio at 814-762-9545 or find them on Facebook.
