Golden Tide Defeated on Senior Night

CURWENSVILLE — The visiting Glendale Vikings and quarterback Logan Skebeck spoiled Curwensville Golden Tide Senior Recognition Night, as Skebeck threw for four touchdowns and added another on the ground in a rainy 30-8 win that raised the Viking record to 3-6. The Tide dropped to 1-8 on the season.

The visitors got on the scoreboard just past the halfway mark of the opening quarter, but a three touchdown second quarter, which set the halftime score at 24-0 made the difference.

The Tide refused to lay down, as they cut the deficit to 24-8 on the opening drive of the second half.

Tide quarterback Tyler Dunn punched in the touchdown, while Braden Holland tacked on the 2-point conversion.

The Tide had another long drive in the quarter as they looked to cut the lead in half, but after that drive stalled the game was pretty much decided.

With only three minutes remaining in the game, Skebeck threw his fourth TD pass of the night, this one to Joey Kitko, setting the final at 30-8 after an oh for five on conversion attempts for the Vikings.

The Tide will hit the road for the final game of the 2023 campaign next Friday night when the travel to Saxton to face the Tussey Mountain Titans, who were 3-5 heading into Friday night.
