DUBOIS – A DuBois man is facing felony charges for allegedly punching employees at an area hospital emergency room.
Brandon L. Mottern, 39, was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault in relation to his actions at Penn Highlands DuBois on July 23.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, witnesses said Mottern walked out of his room towards staff “aggressively” before punching a staff member in the head twice.
Once they were separated, he then reportedly reached out, grabbed the hair of both the victim and a nurse, and began pulling.
The assault was witnessed by several staff members.
Mottern is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 18 during centralized court at District Judge Dave Meholick’s office in DuBois.
