Q&A with the DA: Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association

By District Attorney Ryan Sayers

2023 Vol. 29

Another question that I have been asked over the last few years has been, “is there a group or organization for prosecutors?”

The answer is ‘yes’ and I actually saved that question for this week because I am currently at the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association’s (PDAA) Summer Conference.

The PDAA is made up of all the prosecutors from 66 of the 67 counties in the Commonwealth, and the Attorney General’s Office.

The executive board of the association is comprised of all of the elected or appointed district attorneys in the state.

(The one county that is not a member is Philadelphia County because DA Larry Krasner chose to withdraw from the association when he took office.)

The PDAA provides a massive benefit to prosecutors across the Commonwealth and in turn is a beneficial organization to the people of Clearfield County by ensuring that prosecutors have the knowledge, skills and support that they need to effectuate justice.  All of the prosecutors have access to:

During our two annual conferences (summer and winter), we have round table discussions amongst the district attorneys to talk about legal and administrative issues that we are facing, have a full business meeting of the association, and have continuing legal education seminars/presentations.

The PDAA is an invaluable organization, and it is a pleasure to work side-by-side with these prosecutors from across the Commonwealth.

Ryan Sayers is the elected District Attorney of Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
