HARRISBURG – Small games of chance offer a great opportunity for non-profit groups to raise money.

With that tremendous opportunity comes tremendous responsibility, which is why state Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria/Clearfield) is offering those groups an opportunity to ask questions and learn the rules.

“Pennsylvania’s Local Option Small Games of Chance Act has been amended several times since its inception in 1988,” said Kephart, who is a member of the House Gaming Oversight Committee.

“Local clubs and fraternal organizations who often employ small games of chance have the responsibility of staying ‘between the lines’ and keeping current with gaming laws.”

Kephart’s small games of chance seminar will be held this Monday, July 10, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Patton Fire Hall, 618 Magee Ave., Patton.

“The evening will begin with a presentation by Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board Officers Zachary C. Hochrein and Eric Kaseler, and continue with a question-and-answer session,” Kephart added. “No registration is necessary, and the seminar is free to attend.”

Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Kephart’s Clearfield district office at 814-765-0609, his Hastings office at 814- 247-6210 or his Osceola Mills office at 814-339-6544.
