PHILIPSBURG — The Clearfield Bison and Lady Bison track teams competed in their second Mountain League Tri-Meet of the year on Thursday, the girls earning a sweep to up their season record to 3-1, while the boys managed a split and are now 1-3 for the year.
The girls beat Philipsburg-Osceola 101-47 and Tyrone 81-65. The boys defeated P-O 95-52, but were downed 104-46 by Tyrone.
Danna Bender was the girls leader as she was a triple winner for the day as she swept the hurdles, 100 meter and 300 meter, and also won the 200 meter dash.
Other individual winners for the Lady Bison were Alayna Winters in the 800 meter run, Anna Luzier in the 3200 meter run, and Dehlia Elbe in the pole vault.
The 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams were also winners.
On the boys side there were four individual winners – Evan Davis in the 200 meter dash, Brady Collins in the 300 meter hurdles, Isaac Samsel in the javelin, and Nick Bailor in the shot put.
Both squads will back in action on Tuesday April 11 when they host another Mountain League Tri-Meet at the Bison Sports Complex.
