Clearfield — Timberland Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is celebrating a monumental milestone this year its 50th anniversary.

The credit union initially established its charter in DuBois in 1973, starting as the Riverside Employees Federal Credit Union.

Over the years TFCU has expanded throughout Jefferson, Clearfield and Centre County regions.  In 2002, they opened a full-service office in the Clearfield- Curwensville area, opened a third office in 2016 in downtown Philipsburg, and opened their fourth branch in 2018 in Pleasant Gap.

While TFCU has experienced tremendous growth over the years, they’ve done so while staying true to the credit union philosophy, “people helping people.”  Their strong sense of community is felt throughout their membership, which is open to anyone living throughout their three-county footprint.

TFCU is planning several events over the course of the year to commemorate their anniversary, and plans to grow membership to 10,500 by year’s end.
