Clearfield Woman Charged with Child Endangerment

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield woman is facing child endangerment and related charges following an incident April 17 in Lawrence Township.

Brandy Perks, 46, is also charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, and housed in Clearfield County Jail.

According to a department-issued news release, police were called at 9:48 p.m. April 17 regarding an intoxicated woman outside her residence in the 100-block of Palmer Street.

The woman, identified as Perks, was yelling, screaming and howling, police said, noting they were aware that this has been an “ongoing” issue.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Perks, who was reportedly highly intoxicated and yelling at them. Because she refused to go inside, she was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

However, Perks reportedly resisted the officers until “slipping” her cuffs, and as part of the on-scene investigation, police discovered Perks’ nine-year-old child was inside the home.

“Living conditions were deplorable,” the report stated, “and emergency custody was taken of the child.” Children, Youth and Family Services was also contacted.
