CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners on Tuesday addressed several items of business.
The commissioners:
- approved budgetary amendments to the county’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contract in relation to the GEO Detention Center. Most line items were for direct operational costs (copier/printer) or transportation, and essentially funds were being reallocated due to funding availability as a pass-through from Homeland Security.
- approved a one-year agreement with the state Department of Environmental Protection to participate in the 2022 Black Fly Suppression Program. It has a $5,500 financial obligation to the county, and also automatically renews for up to five years. DEP, however, must notify the county by Jan. 15, 2023 of its financial obligation, and then it would have the obligation to terminate if it’s outside the county’s realm. The county has received several complaints about black flies along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, and contacted DEP, which uses a non-toxic spray to reduce black fly populations.
- approved a request from IT Director Adam Curry to change the county domain from .org to .gov. to increase the security of the county’s webpage and e-mail.
- approved care coordination agreements with CenClear for the county’s Children & Youth Services and Probation offices to use CenClear as a referral source.
- approved a letter of agreement with Penn Highlands Healthcare for drug and alcohol services for the county’s Juvenile and Adult Probation offices.
- approved a coordination agreement with System Access Management (SAM).
- proclaimed March 2022 as March for Meals month.
- approved one new hire and three employee separations/retirements.
- approved the bills as presented by the Controller’s office.
- approved the minutes of the Feb. 22 board meeting as presented by the chief clerk.
