MCCALMONT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based state police say charges are pending after a woman suspected to be intoxicated crashed while two young children were riding in her vehicle.
Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on February 10 at 8:41 a.m. along Main Street in Young Township, Jefferson County.
During a preliminary interview with police, the 36-year-old female operator of a Toyota RAV4, who is listed as being from Anita, showed signs of impairment.
Troopers administered standardized field sobriety tests, and upon completion, the woman was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Two children, an eight-year-old male and a seven-year-old female, both from Anita, were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The woman’s name has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
