Bison Send Four to Ultimate Warrior Finals, Still in Second Place

Clearfield has four semifinalists

MORRISDALE — The Clearfield Bison sent five wrestlers into Saturday morning’s semifinals at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament and four came away winners to advance to the Championship Finals at 6:00 pm.

They also had five alive in the “blood round”, and three of those won, assuring the Bison of eight medalists. The third, fifth, and seventh place matches begin at 3:30 pm.

The finals matchups for the Bison, with seeds and records:

126: #1 Dalton Perry (27-2), Central Mountain vs #2 Brady Collins (24-2), Clearfield

172: #1 Garrett Garcia (17-3), Southern Columbia vs. #2 Mark McGonigal (21-5), Clearfield

215: #1 Anson Wagner (20-4), Mifflin County vs. #2 Hayden Kovalick (24-1), Clearfield

285: #1 Oliver Billotte (21-0), Clearfield vs. Gavin Thompson (22-2), Brockway.

At 189 Carter Chamberlain (19-6) will wrestle for third, Evan Davis (18-8) at 113 and Karson Kline (14-7) at 152 will both wrestle for fifth, and Ty Aveni (8-7) will wrestle for seventh.

Nolan Barr (16-11) at 138 and Luke Freeland (16-9) at 145 each fell one win short of placing.

The Bison are still in second place with 175 points, while Mifflin County still leads the team race with 192.5 points.
