CURWENSVILLE — The Golden Tide wrestling team easily upped their season mark to 14-4 on the season with an easy 57-3 dismantling of the Juniata Valley Hornets in make up action Wednesday night inside Patton Hall. The Hornets dropped to 2-12 with the loss.
The Tide built up a 51-0 lead with two bouts to go, but the Hornets’ undefeated Ben Carolus (11-0) defeated the Tide’s Trenton Guiher (14-6) in overtime to avoid the shut out.
The Tide notched six falls, a regular decision, and two forfeits to accumulate 57 points in their lopsided win.
Jake Carfley (16-1), Nik Fegert (14-6), Zach Shaffer (11-9), Logan Aughenbaugh (14-3), and Alex Shaffer (11-6) all had first period falls, while Jarrett Anderson (3-7) had to wait until the third period for his fall.
Chase Irwin (12-8) had a 6-0 shut out and Damian Brady (18-4) and Brennen Moore (5-3) each received forfeits.
The Tide are back in action this weekend at the Fred Bell Memorial Tourney in Grove City.
