CURWENSVILLE — The Golden Tide continued their successful 2021-22 campaign with an easy 48-12 win over the visiting Punxsutawney Chucks (4-13) on Tuesday night.
In raising their season record to 13-4, the Tide pickled up five falls, two regular decisions, and received two forfeits.
The Tide was down 6-0 after Landon Martz of the Chucks pinned Ethan Siegel at 172 pounds, but the Tide then scored 48 unanswered points before Grant Miller of the Chucks closed out the night with another fall for Punxsutawney.
Chase Irwin (11-8 overall) at 189, Alex Shaffer (10-5) at 215, and Trenton Guiher (14-5) at 285 each picked up falls to swing the momentum squarely on the Tide.
After Damian Brady (17-4) received a forfeit at 106 the Tide held a 24-6 lead.
Sandwiched around two “no matches” at 113 and 126 was a Jake Carfley (15-1) 6-1 win over Dysen Gould.
At 132 Ryder Kuklinskie (16-5) received the second Tide forfeit before Nik Fegert (13-6) expanded the Tide lead to 39-6 with his fall.
Zach Shaffer (10-9) had a narrow 3-2 win over Brice Rowan at 145 before Logan Aughenbaugh (13-3) closed out the Tide scoring with a third period fall.
The Tide can now rest a few days before heading to the Grove City tournament this weekend.
