CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Municipal Authority reported Tuesday that the pilot study protocol for updating the Montgomery Dam to a membrane filtration system has been submitted to the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Based on conversations with the DEP, the study will most likely begin in February or March of 2022.
The state-wide precipitation study is complete and the authority is going to look into updating the 2008 Dam Improvements Study. The estimated cost for the study is $35,000.
The DEP conducted an inspection of the combined sewer overflow along with the sanitary sewer overflow two weeks ago and discussed issuing notice of violations with associated fines.
The Clearfield Municipal Authority intends to discuss the long-term plans for the CSO/SSO with DEP once the borough and township systems are acquired.
