Once up on a time, there were two wolves. They loved each other so much that they would die for each other. One day the white wolf got sick. With her last bit of strength, they went to the Moon Sprit.

The wolves pleaded to the Sprit to heal her. Finally, the Moon Sprit agreed to heal her, but at a cost. The moon explained how he left the spirit world, was no longer immortal and it was almost his time to die.  The Moon Sprit said, “If I heal you, you’ll take my place as the moon.”

The gray wolf agreed to become the moon if it would heal her. As the gray wolf turned into the moon, the wolves howled to each other. The next time you hear howling, remember the wolves that gave each up other for love.
