Clearfield County Student Inducted into National Junior Honor Society

HARRISBURG – Kelby Rudy from Clearfield County is among the 56 newly-inducted members of Reach Cyber Charter School’s National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Rudy was inducted in the NJHS.

The inductees, 27 to NHS and 29 to NJHS, were celebrated in a virtual ceremony with their family and peers across Pennsylvania on March 23, 2021. Reach Cyber Charter School is a unique, tuition-free public cyber school serving K-12 students across the state.

“On behalf of the entire Reach Cyber faculty, congratulations to the 56 new members of the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society,” said Jane Swan, Reach Cyber Charter School chief executive officer.

“I am amazed and inspired by their outstanding academic achievements, devotions to service, and remarkable leadership. These students hail from so many different backgrounds and educational histories, and what they all share is an incredible capacity to thrive.

“As Reach Cyber students, they are actively contributing to and shaping their learning experiences, and we are so proud of them as students, leaders, family members, and classmates!”

The 2020-21 inductees are part of the largest class to join NHS and NJHS in Reach Cyber’s history. With this year’s induction, there are now 46 members of Reach Cyber’s NHS chapter, which includes high school students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades and 43 members in NJHS, which includes students in seventh, eighth and ninth grades.

To become a member of Reach Cyber’s NHS or NJHS, students must demonstrate excellence in service and/or leadership, receive recommendation from a community member and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in their academic courses.

Once inducted, students attend monthly meetings through the school’s learning portal and participate in service projects. Each school year, members will complete a minimum of 10 community service hours.

Serving students virtually across the state of Pennsylvania, Reach Cyber Charter School delivers an awarded curriculum with STEM enrichment opportunities, advanced courses, extracurricular activities, socialization opportunities and modern, easy-to-use technology tools for families looking for a personalized approach to education in a positive online learning environment.

Reach Cyber is currently enrolling for the 2021-22 school year.
