BIGLER TOWNSHIP – A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and injured two others Tuesday morning in Bigler Township, Clearfield County.
According to Clearfield-based state police, the crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on state Route 53/Main Street, south of Brewery Road.
State police say a vehicle operated by David Beary, 62, of Venus, Pa., was traveling south when the boy’s vehicle crossed the double-yellow lines. It struck Beary’s vehicle head-on, causing disabling damage to both vehicles.
Beary and a passenger were transported to UPMC Altoona for medical treatment. The boy was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital.
