CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Bison wrestling team officially closed out their 2020-2021 season with a 48-21 loss to the Williamsport Millionaires in the finals of the District4/9 AAA Team Wrestling Championships.
The shorthanded Bison (14-5) were down three starters and had to forfeit four weight classes, which was just too much to overcome against a talented Millionaire squad, which featured five state qualifiers and two medalists.
Out of the nine contested bouts, the Bison went 4-5, with three falls.
Picking up pins for the hosts were Evan Davis at 113, Mark McGonigal at 189, and Hayden Kovalick at 215. Freshman Will Domico earned a regular decision at 152.
Williamsport will now face District 6 champion Bellefonte on Wednesday in the PIAA Team Wrestling Championship quarterfinals.
