Former Coalport Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

COALPORT – A former Coalport man is facing charges after he was found in possession of four nude photographs of young girls.

Chad Alan Peters, 39, currently an inmate of SCI Smithfield, is charged by Clearfield-based state police with four felony counts of child pornography. A preliminary hearing hasn’t yet been scheduled.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 1, Peters’ state parole agent contacted state police after he learned Peters was in possession of pornographic images of children. At the time, Peters was a resident of Tomorrow’s Hope Home, Coalport, Beccaria Township.

Based upon this receipt of information, the agent scheduled to see Peters and was provided verbal consent to search his phone. He allegedly found four nude photographs of young girls, prompting his report.

State police responded to the home and also received consent to search Peters’ phone. Troopers confirmed the agent’s findings and seized the device to be entered as evidence.
