HARRISBURG – During lines of questioning by Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) and fellow members of the House Appropriations Committee during its budget hearings, top agency officials confirmed the long-held belief that they were not consulted by Gov. Tom Wolf at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The overwhelming theme during the hearings this week was that Wolf did not consult with his secretaries to receive their expert input before he closed countless businesses throughout the state. Instead, he took a go-it-alone approach,” Ecker said.
“His decision put nearly every small business at a disadvantage and caused many to close their doors for good.”
