HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of 12 a.m., Feb. 19, there were 2,778 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state-wide total to 908,773.
According to the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has had 6,106 (+14) total cases since March and 113 deaths (+1) while 18,055 people have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 4,590 were confirmed and 1,516 were probable.
There are 2,124 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, and state health officials say, of that number, 467 patients are in the intensive care unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 3,400 lower than it was at its peak Dec. 25, 2020.
However, the current 14-day average is comparable to what it was at the height of the spring peak May 3, 2020.
The state-wide percent positivity for the week of Feb. 5 – Feb. 11 is 8 percent. Daily data is available on the Web site, with archived data also available.
As of 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, there were 67 new deaths for a total of 23,480 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. County-specific information and a state-wide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.
There are 106,917 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 637 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 3,807,727 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date. Additionally, 88 percent of patients have recovered from the virus.
State health officials remind that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, even if fully vaccinated, and is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
