DOH: 57 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Clearfield Co. Over Two-day Period

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of 12 a.m., Feb. 1, there was a two-day total of 6,839 bringing the state-wide total to 846,078.

According to the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has had 5,627 (+57) total cases since March and 100 deaths while 16,486 people have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 4,404 were confirmed and 1,223 were probable.

There are 3,370 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, state health officials say, and of that number, 695 patients are in the intensive care unit.

Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.

The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day has reportedly increased by nearly 3,500 since the end of September.

The state-wide percent positivity for the week of Jan. 22 – Jan. 28 is 9.3 percent. The most accurate daily data is available on the Web site, with archived data also available.

The department also reported that Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 death toll is 21,687. County-specific information and a state-wide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.

There are 3,646,648 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date. Eighty-two (82) percent of patients have recovered from the virus.

State health officials remind that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, and is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
