Harmony Knocks Down Lady Tide 37-29

WESTOVER – The Harmony Lady Owls downed Curwensville Tuesday night in a girls Moshannon Valley League contest on the Lady Owls’ home floor 37-29.

The Lady Tide hung around after the first quarter, trailing just 5-2. However the second and third frames did Curwensville in, losing the second 13-6 and then the third 16-10.

A nice fourth quarter effort by Curwensville, outscoring Harmony 11-3, made the final score somewhat closer.

The Lady Tide defense showed improvement against the Lady Owls after giving up 73 points to Purchase Line last Friday in its season opening loss.

Alyssa Bakaysa and Joslynne Freyer each had eight points for Curwensville, while sophomore Skylar Pentz chipped in with seven.

Harmony was led by Traci Hauser’s 16 points with Hannah Smith netting eight.
