CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough on Wednesday declared a snow emergency in anticipation of a major winter storm event.
Officials are requesting assistance from residents and business owners with:
- removing all vehicles from borough roadways, so that snow removal can be completed more efficiently. Officials have the option to tow vehicles from specific roadways to allow for snow removal and passage of emergency vehicles.
- Shoveling a three-foot perimeter around all fire hydrants and maintaining clear sidewalks.
- Checking all heat-related piping to ensure they are clear for safety purposes, as well as making sure heating oil and or coal supplies will maintain warmth for several days.
- Clearing sidewalks and driveways within 12 hours of the completion of snow fall. Snow shouldn’t be placed onto any streets or sidewalks.
- Assisting neighbors and friends with clearing passageways, such as sidewalks and driveways.
