Curwensville Man Charged in Sexual Assault Case

CURWENSVILLE – A Curwensville man is being accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Kenneth Earl Rowles III, 42, is charged by Clearfield-based state police with two counts of trafficking in minors and four counts each of rape of child, statutory sexual assault: 11 years older, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse-person less than 16 years and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with child, all felonies.

The assaults occurred several times between March 1 and Dec. 8, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Mike Morris.

The girl was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County on Dec. 9. She said Rowles offered her gold coins to perform sex acts, but she never received any coins. She said she felt pressured, and this happened a lot.

Rowles is currently incarcerated in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. He’s scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 23 during centralized court.
