HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of 12 a.m., Dec. 1, there were 5,676 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state-wide total to 367,140.
According to the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has had 1,775 (+82) total cases since March and 13 (+1) deaths while 12,481 patients have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 1,416 are confirmed and 359 are probable.
There are 4,631 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, state health officials say, and of that number, 970 patients are in the intensive care unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.
The trend in the 14-day moving average of number of hospitalized patients per day has reportedly increased by nearly 3,200 since the end of September.
State-wide percent positivity for the week of Nov. 20 – Nov. 26 stood at 11.7 percent. The most accurate daily data is available on the Web site, with archived data also available.
The number of tests administered within the last seven days, between Nov. 24 and Nov. 30, is 375,888 with 32,853 positive cases. There were 38,752 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Nov. 30.
As of 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, there were 180 new deaths reported for a total of 10,563 Pennsylvania deaths attributed to COVID-19. County-specific information and a state-wide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.
There are 17,770 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 642 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,836,445 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date. Of those who have tested positive, the age breakdown is as follows:
- Approximately 1 percent are ages 0-4;
- Nearly 3 percent are ages 5-12;
- Approximately 5 percent are ages 13-18;
- Approximately 12 percent are ages 19-24;
- Nearly 37 percent are ages 25-49;
- Nearly 22 percent are ages 50-64; and
- Nearly 20 percent are ages 65 or older.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 35,946 resident cases of COVID-19, and 6,752 cases among employees, for a total of 42,698 at 1,279 distinct facilities in 65 counties.
Out of the total deaths, 6,507 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here. It was also noted that approximately 14,655 of the total cases are among health care workers.
Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine reminds that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, and consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
