Thompson Re-Elected to Republican Steering Committee

WASHINGTON, DC — On Friday, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson was unanimously re-elected to the Republican Steering Committee by 14 of his colleagues who represent both Pennsylvania and Kentucky. The Steering Committee is comprised of 30 members of the House Republican Conference, including party and conference leadership, as well as committee chairs and regional representatives. Upon conclusion of the vote, Congressman Thompson issued the following statement:

“I am honored to be re-elected to the Republican Steering Committee and humbled to have received unanimous support from my colleagues in Pennsylvania and Kentucky,” said Rep. Thompson. “They can be assured they will have the strongest advocate for the region during the 117th Congress.”

“GT Thompson has been laser-focused on the Pennsylvania Delegation and advocating for Members in Region II. He has the experience, temperament, and generosity of spirit that is essential in any good leader,” said Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01). “GT has always been there for our delegation, and he understands the unique priorities of Pennsylvania. GT is the consummate public servant, and Pennsylvania is lucky to have him leading us.”

“I was happy to support GT for re-election as our region’s Steering Committee Representative,” said Rep. James Comer (KY-01). “GT was instrumental in my getting elected as Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee a few months ago, so I know firsthand how effective he is in this position.”
