Sandy Supers OK Liquor License Transfer

DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Supervisors on Monday night voted to approve a liquor license transfer to Angry Goat Enterprises LLC.  The restaurant liquor license will be used at the Doolittle property, DuBois.

Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh noted that liquor license fees have been waived for 2021, which would normally generate $4,200 annually for the township.

In other business, Arbaugh reported a road bump in the Industrial Drive Extension project. He said the geotechnical study indicated the township has to remove a three-foot section of the surface for a stretch of 1,500 feet due to “poor soils.”

This surface material, he said, would be replaced with A2 stone at a total cost of approximately $405,000.

The supervisors subsequently approved seeking a Multimodal Grant that requires a 30 percent match.  If awarded the grant, it would cover $310,850 of the project cost.

Also, the supervisors announced the township will accept paper, which needs shredded, on Nov 9.  Residents can drop off letter-sized documents at the municipal building but are limited to two boxes.
