FRENCHVILLE – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Oct. 21 to celebrate the Susquehanna Wellness Clinic, a primary care office opening in the Frenchville area.
The Susquehanna Wellness Clinic will serve adult patients 18 and older and takes a holistic, person-centered approach to care by providing a number of services to its patients.
These services include adult medicine, geriatric care, preventative medicine, immunizations, annual wellness visits, health care screenings, laboratory testing and interdisciplinary team planning.
Additionally, the clinic will provide transportation to seniors 60 and older to appointments, conduct in-home visits to patients physically unable to come into the clinic and Telehealth services to connect virtually when coming into the clinic isn’t an option.
The clinic is staffed by two primary care providers, Dr. Baltazar Corcino, M.D., and Jamie Bush, CRNP, and additional medical staff.
The clinic is a vision of the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging (CCAAA) with Chief Executive Officer Kathleen Gillespie, Chief Operating Officer Ethen Tarner and Practice Manager Megan Patrick bringing the project to life.
The CCAAA recognized a need for a healthcare option that would reach more rural areas of Clearfield County.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by board members of The Clearfield Chamber of Commerce, Hal Beimel, Adam Bailey and Kevin Wain, Clearfield Chamber of Commerce Director Kim Bloom, Andrea Schickling representing Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr.’s office, CCAAA Board President Lisa Kovalick, Marsha Belin-Muir CCAAA board member, clinic staff and several CCAAA employees.
Following the ceremony, the clinic opened its doors to the community for an open house. This event included facility tours, light refreshments, giveaways and a chance to speak with the medical team.
The open house was well attended by the community and gave individuals a chance to learn more about the clinic and services the clinic will provide to patients.
