Sandy Twp. Addresses Various Items of Business

DUBOIS – The Sandy Township board of supervisors met Monday night, addressing various items of business.

The supervisors announced that the township’s first leaf pickup of the year will begin on the morning of Monday, Oct. 26.

Leaves must be placed curbside in untied bags.  There is no limit on the number of bags that may be placed curbside, and collection will occur in all areas. 

Advanced Disposal plans to have all the leaves collected in Sandy Township by Oct. 28.  There will be another scheduled leaf collection between now and December.

The supervisors also announced that trick-or-treat will be Halloween night, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Also, on Oct. 29, a Trunk-or-Treat will take place at the Recreation Park. 

Guests are welcome to come anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

In other business, the supervisors approved for Oklahoma Fire Station No. 37 to purchase a 2017 pumper truck for approximately $460,000.  

The supervisors also announced a public hearing will be held on a liquor license transfer to Angry Goat LLC on Nov. 2 before their regular board meeting.
