GANT Weekend Police Blotter

Sandy Twp.

A Lundgren Road resident reported that a black Dodge extended cab pickup has been speeding up the road daily for about a week.  Officers are patrolling the area.

A Garden Grove resident reported her neighbors are talking about her. 

An Ice Plant Road resident reported finding a bullet hole in his house that continued on, into the downstairs bathroom.  Officers along with the PA Game Commission determined it to be an accidental incident.  No injuries and minimal damage reported. 

Officers responded to a minor accident on Bee Line Hwy. where a vehicle was stopped at a red light and another vehicle failed to stop in time to avoid hitting it.  No injuries and minor damage reported.

Officers received a report of a 57 year old female was wandering around in the Wilson Ave. area who was telling people she was that she was being held against her will.  Upon arrival officers spoke to the woman who confirmed she was not being held against her will, but did want to go to the hospital.  Officers transported her to Penn Highlands without incident.

An 85 year old DuBois man reported that his foot slipped off of the brake when stopped at a light on E. DuBois Ave causing it to hit the vehicle in front of him.  No injuries or damage reported. 

Clearfield Borough

Police received a report of a vehicle that was operated without the owner’s permission.  Police located the male responsible which resulted him being taken into custody.

Police responded to a report of a male screaming from the porch of his residence.  Police arrived in the area and located the male.  The male was found not to be in distress and was warned of his actions.

Police responded to a noise complaint at a Turnpike Ave. residence.  Police arrived on scene and made contact with the tenants.  The tenants were advised to be quiet.

Police responded to a report of a male laying on the railroad tracks while an oncoming train was approaching.  The train was able to safely come to a stop without hitting the male.  Police arrived on scene and located the male who was observed as being very irate.  The male was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield County Jail. 

Police received a report from a W 1st Ave. resident who observed a male on her security camera footage to be taking pictures of her house and vehicles in the early morning.  Police are investigating.

While on patrol, police located a lost dog.  The dog was described as a light brown and white pit bull.  Police were unable to locate the owners and the dog was transported to the SPCA.

Police were dispatched to a local restaurant for an alarm being activated inside after hours.  Police arrived and found it to be a false alarm. 

Police responded to a noise complaint at a Turnpike Ave. residence.  Upon arrival, police did not hear any noise coming from the apartment.  Police attempted to knock on the door but were met with negative contact.

Police were dispatched to the skate park for a report of trespassing.  It was reported that a male was refusing to leave the skate park while a horse show was taking place.  Police arrived on scene and spoke with the male who agreed to leave.

Police conducted a vehicle stop and discovered the driver to contain a warrant.  The driver was able to satisfy the warrant during the stop.   

Curwensville Borough

Police were contacted about small dogs running around the area of Windy Hill. The dogs were gone prior to police arrival.

Police received information regarding possible drug activity in the area.

Police received a traffic complaint.  Upon arrival it was discovered that a vehicle was blocking a fire hydrant.

Police are investigating a harassment by communication incident.  The investigation continues.

Lawrence Twp.

Police responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of River View Rd. and the Clearfield Co. Career and Technology Center.  No injuries were reported.

Police responded to the Uni-Mart on Washington Ave. for a accident.  An orange Saturn driven by a 43 year old Clearfield woman struck a vehicle driven by a 50 year old DuBois woman.  Upon investigation it was found that the driver of the Saturn was under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of marijuana.  She was transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a legal blood draw.  Charges are pending.
