Suspected DUI Driver Causes Head-on Crash in Morris Twp.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP – A suspected DUI driver caused a head-on crash Sept. 25 in Morris Township.

According to Clearfield-based state police, the crash occurred at 4:16 p.m. along the Kylertown – Drifting Highway when a vehicle operated by 57-year-old Carol L. Barton of Morrisdale drove off the right side of the roadway.

She reportedly over-corrected and re-entered the roadway, crossing the centerlines into the northbound lane of travel and striking a vehicle operated by a 61-year-old Wallaceton woman head-on.  

Alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash, and Baron has been charged with DUI and other summary traffic violations. Both operators sustained moderate to severe injuries as a result, state police said.

State police were assisted on-scene by towing services, as well as Moshannon Valley Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
