GRAMPIAN – Upcoming fall events and activities were discussed at a recent meeting of the Grampian Lions Club.
The 11th annual Andy Sutika Memorial Softball Tournament will be held Sept. 19 at Stern Ball Field at the DuBois City Park. A basket raffle will also be held and a concession stand will be open. The public is invited to attend.
A quilt was donated to the club for a raffle, and tickets are available for $2 each. It was hand-pieced and quilted by Bells Landing Crafting Belles, is queen sized and blue, cream and multi-colors.
Tickets can be purchased from Dimmick’s Auto Repair in Bells Landing, Nancy’s Gifts in Hepburnia (near Grampian) or club members by calling 814-277-6841 or e-mailing SHYbennett@gmail.com.
The quilt raffle drawing will take place Dec. 8. Proceeds from the ball tournament and quilt raffle will benefit the club’s Special Needs Fund and families or individuals in its service area.
Plans are also in the works for a drive-thru Halloween “Trunk or Treat” at the Grampian Community Park on Saturday, Oct. 31 for all local children. More information will be announced at a later date.
