Service, Hero Blessing to be Held for Front-line Workers

PHILIPSBURG – A service with a hero blessing for local front-line and essential workers will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 in the St. Peter & Paul Church parking lot, Philipsburg.  The church is located at 400 S. Fourth St.

The service is meant to honor and respect those who have been caring for, protecting, rescuing and providing for their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and every day.

First responders, police, EMTs and paramedics, corrections officers, healthcare workers, food service workers, food supply chain workers, over-the-road truck drivers, convenience and grocery store employees, gas station attendants, food bank workers, and more are welcome to attend.

Father John Gibbons and Deacon Jerry Nevling will preside over the service and blessing. Police, ambulance and fire apparatus can be parked around the perimeter. Public is also welcome.
