Man Bails Out of Moving Vehicle in Attempt to Flee Police, Leaves Passenger in the Car

Lawrence Twp.– A local man was taken into custody after fleeing police.

Joel Blaurock, 28, of Hyde has been charged by the Lawrence Twp. police for fleeing and eluding, flight to avoid apprehension, recklessly endangering another person and eight traffic violations following an incident that occurred Aug. 15.

According to the report, police attempted to initiate a traffic stop along Wolf Run Rd. when Blaurock attempted to flee and ultimately exited the driver’s seat of the moving vehicle, leaving a passenger, while the vehicle continued to travel on the roadway.

A foot pursuit ensued where Blaurock was able to escape into the woods.  Police later located Blaurock and took him into custody. He is housed in the Clearfield County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
