DUBOIS – A local man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly robbing the Snappy’s Convenience Store in DuBois on July 29.
Jimmy Gibbs, 22, of DuBois is charged by Sandy Township police with felony robbery and terroristic threats as well as misdemeanor reckless endangerment and theft by unlawful taking.
Police say surveillance was conducted on a “person of interest” Aug. 9, and he was observed entering a vehicle in the store’s parking lot.
The male left the area northbound on state Route 255, and officers initiated a traffic stop as he turned into the entrance of Treasure Lake.
The driver, Gibbs, was taken into custody without incident, and upon further investigation, police found he had multiple outstanding warrants against him.
Gibbs is incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, and scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Aug. 21 before Magisterial District Judge Pat Ford.
