LT Supers Hold Brief Meeting

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors held a short meeting Tuesday and discussed a request to take over a road at a trailer court, which was raised earlier in the month.

Roadmaster Ron Woodling said he went with Shawn Agosti of the state Department of Transportation to look at the road and said the drainage there does need cleaned up.

Woodling was concerned that if the township took over the road it would result in a considerable burden to the taxpayers to bring it up to PennDOT standards for liquid fuels.

However, secretary Barb Shaffner said that the property owners are the ones responsible for bringing it up to specifications before the township takes over.

Once the township knows what is needed, the supervisors will talk with the property owners.

Woodling also reported that while the clean-up at the compost site went well and things look nice, recently someone dumped a load of brick.

The cameras hadn’t been erected yet, but after this incident, they will be placed as soon as possible.

It was noted that the site is for brush, leaves and grass only, not debris or garbage.

Shaffner took a moment to thank everyone who has made donations to Crown Crest Cemetery and also those who have volunteered to work at the grounds.

Supervisor Randy Powell also thanked everyone who showed up at the fire on Pine Grove Nursery Road Sunday night and for their hard work on one of the hottest days this month.
