ALDI Stores to Require Face Coverings Beginning July 27

BATAVIA, Ill.  – ALDI recently announced that its grocery stores will join other retail businesses that require shoppers to wear face coverings.

The new policy will officially take effect Monday, July 27, according to a news release posted on the company’s Web site.

“The health and safety of our employees, customers and the communities we serve will always be our highest priority,” the release said.

“We continue to monitor safety protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local health officials.”

The company said its policy is based on the CDC’s belief that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 and could reduce the spread of the virus.

“Our new face covering policy is an enhanced safety measure intended to help limit the spread of COVID-19. All ALDI employees will continue to wear face coverings, as they have for months.”

The company encourages any customer who is unable or unwilling to wear a face covering, to visit shop.aldi.us for grocery delivery – and Curb-side Grocery Pick-up in many locations.
