DuBois Lions Club Cancels “Nite at the Races” Event

DUBOIS – A decision was recently made to cancel the DuBois Lions Club “Nite at the Races” event, to be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Brady Township Community Center.

There were 250 tickets sold for this indoor event that was to be held earlier this year on Saturday, March 30, but because of COVID-19 pandemic concerns, it was rescheduled for Saturday Aug. 1.

The DuBois Lions Club voted in favor of canceling this year’s event for the health and safety of all ticket holders.

Members will offer a refund to ticket holders on Sunday, Aug. 2, between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater at the DuBois City Park.

Non-ticket holders of the Nite at the Races are also welcome to buy raffle tickets from the DuBois Lions Club at this time.

This is the DuBois Lions Club primary fundraiser to raise money for services for the visually impaired, diabetes prevention and treatment, youth programs and student scholarships.

On Sunday, Aug. 2, the club invites anyone interested in supporting the DuBois Lions Clubs to its outdoor basket raffle and 50-50 drawing.

There will also be raffle tickets available for the big-prize drawing to be held on Thursday, Sept. 10 at a regular Lions Club meeting.

All sponsors of this event will be contacted and will be asked to be listed as a donor of the 2021 event.  For additional questions, please feel free to reach out to any DuBois Lions Club member.
