DuBois Couple Jailed on Drug Charges

CLEARFIELD – A DuBois couple were jailed on felony and misdemeanor charges following a drug investigation at a local motel.

Desiri Nikole Bussard, 21, and Jeffrey Michael Bearer, 39, were charged by Lawrence Township police following a report of possible drug activity Thursday at the Rodeway Inn, Clearfield.

Both were charged with felony manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and conspiracy and three misdemeanor drug offenses.

Upon arrival, contact was made with Bussard in the parking lot and who police say was found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

When she was taken into custody, she said she’d been staying at the motel with her boyfriend, and a search warrant was subsequently obtained and executed on their motel room.

It allegedly turned up approximately 27 grams of heroin packaged for distribution, approximately 4.7 grams of mushrooms, meth, a scale, packaging materials and paraphernalia.

Bussard and Bearer were arraigned Friday night and lodged in county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Both are scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings July 15 during centralized court.
