DUBOIS – Sandy Township has hired a new planning/zoning-code enforcement officer.
On Monday night, the supervisors voted to hire Jenna Gorney to fill the position with a recommended start date of July 27.
According to Sandy Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh, Gorney is currently the zoning administrator for the city of Erie. He said she was one of two applicants who reached the interview stage of the hiring process.
In other business, the supervisors announced that a public meeting will be held concerning the Kiwanis Trail sewer project. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. July 13 at the Oklahoma Fire Company.
Arbaugh also reported that the DuBois City-Sandy Township consolidation study is still ongoing. He said employees of both municipalities are currently being engaged in an interview process.
Arbaugh also said the township has hired a trapper due to beavers being a nuisance and causing flooding in the area of David Reed and Dale roads.
