HARRISBURG – The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has surpassed 69,000 throughout all 67 counties in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has confirmed that as of 12 a.m., there are 780 new coronavirus cases, bringing the statewide total to 69,417. The death toll is now 5,265.
According to data on the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has 37 total cases while 1,032 patients have tested negative for the virus.
All people are either in isolation at home or being treated at the hospital, state health officials say. County-specific information and a statewide map are available here.

“As Pennsylvania continues to move forward in the process to reopen, we need to remember that the threat from COVID-19 has not gone away,” Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. “As counties move into the yellow and green phases, we must take personal responsibility to protect others.
“Wearing a mask, continuing to maintain social distancing, and washing your hands frequently are all steps we can take to help protect others, including our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians, our essential workers and our healthcare system.”
DOH data shows there are 349,990 patients who have tested negative state-wide to date. Of the patients who have tested positive, the age breakdown is as follows:

State health officials say that most of the hospitalized patients are aged 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More Pennsylvania COVID-19 information is available here.
DOH data shows that in nursing and personal care homes, there are 14,990 resident cases of COVID-19 and 2,528 cases among employees for a total of 17,518 at 596 distinct facilities in 44 counties.
Out of the total deaths, state health officials say that 3,469 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.
It was also noted that approximately 5,216 of Pennsylvania’s total cases are in health care workers.

Non-life-sustaining businesses in the red phase counties are ordered to be closed and schools are closed statewide through the remainder of the academic year.
Currently, 49 counties are in the yellow phase of the governor’s system to gradually reopen Pennsylvania, and eight more will move to yellow and 18 to green on May 29.
All remaining counties are expected to move into the yellow phase by June 5.
