Four Defendants Receive Jail Sentences in Clearfield Co. Court

CLEARFIELD – A man having sexual relations with a 15-year-old, a nurse stealing drugs from a nursing home, a man living in filth with his family including four children, and a woman who bit a police officer were among those sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry during plea and sentencing court Tuesday.

Dante Malik Prigg, 23, of Tyrone charged for having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl, pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and obscene/sexual material-dissemination to minors as well as a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors. He was given nine months to two years in the county jail with four years additional probation.

He must complete counseling and register with police under Megan’s Law.

According to this affidavit, Prigg met the girl at the Curwensville Lake on June 24. He then sent messages to her including a naked photo of himself. The next day, they met again at the Lake where he touched her inappropriately before he had her perform a sex act on him.

Amanda Lynn Cluff, 32, of DuBois was originally facing 21 felony charges and 41 misdemeanor counts for stealing hydrocodone and tramadol pills from a nursing home where she worked.

She pleaded guilty to one felony count of acquisition or obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation. She was sentenced to six months to two years less one day in the county jail and one-year consecutive probation. She must complete drug and alcohol counseling.

It was noted by her attorney, Joe Ryan, that she has already attended an inpatient drug program.

Edward Alfred Snyder, 44, of Clearfield pleaded guilty to a felony count of endangering the welfare of children. He was sentenced to 15 days to one year in jail with two years consecutive probation.

Snyder and four other family members were charged after they were found to be living in horrendous conditions with four children in East End in August of 2018.

In the home, police found rotten food, garbage, electrical wiring hanging from the ceiling, black/stained carpet, feces, mold and a basement reportedly two feet deep in sewage.

The house was condemned by Clearfield Borough Code Officer Larry Mack.

Ashley Marie Bennett, 23, of Irvona was charged in March of 2019 with aggravated assault for biting an officer’s arm when he was trying to transport her to the county jail.

Bennett pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of simple assault and was sentenced to 10 days to one year in jail and one-year consecutive probation. She was ordered to complete anger management counseling.
