DUBOIS – A Sandy Township supervisor is apologizing for an error made in budget paperwork.
On Monday night, Supervisor Kevin Salandra said Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh made an error and the township inadvertently filed a higher tax rate than advertised in its budget.
Salandra said the error occurred because they’d discussed differing tax rates prior to approval of the final budget.
In other business, the supervisors discussed the installation of 55 fire hydrants in Treasure Lake, which would cost $26 per month per hydrant, or $15,000 annually.
It was noted that this would be a “customary cost” for the hydrants. The supervisors tabled any action until its next regular meeting.
Also, because the public can’t participate in meetings in-person, Supervisor Jim Jeffers encouraged residents to submit questions regarding the proposed consolidation, ATV ordinance, etc.
The supervisors said any questions would be answered and placed on record during any virtual township meetings. Residents should include their name, contact information and address.
The township approved the mall’s request for three outdoor amusement permits. The first will be a drive-in theater to run from May through October.
The other two are for the annual fall festival and a music festival to be held pending what COVID-19-related guidelines will be in effect in Clearfield County.
