EXPLOREJEFFERSON: Area Man Accused of Threatening to Shoot Couple With Assault Rifle

LAWRENCE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area man is facing criminal charges for allegedly threatening to shoot a couple with an AR-15.

Court documents indicate the Lawrence Township Police Department filed criminal charges against 31-year-old Anthony Way Brunstetter, of DuBois.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:01 a.m. on April 18, Lawrence Township Police received a report of terroristic threats in the area of the Clearfield EMS building on West Front Street in Clearfield.

According to the complaint, a known victim reported a man “beat on” his vehicle with his fist and threatened to shoot him and his girlfriend.

Officers responded to the scene and spoke to the victim.

The male victim reported that he and his girlfriend were in his vehicle in the parking lot when Anthony Brunstetter drove up to his vehicle, exited his pickup truck, and began to yell at them and punch the window of the vehicle.

Brunstetter allegedly stated he was going to go home, get his AR-15, and return to shoot the victims.

A witness at the scene was exiting the building and saw Brunstetter punching the window of the victim’s vehicle, and heard him making the threat of shooting the victims with an AR-15, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes no damage to the victim’s vehicle was observed.

Burnstetter was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. Morris at 1:23 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Misdemeanor 3

He is currently free on a $5,000.00 surety bond.

A preliminary hearing for the case has not yet been scheduled.
