PHOTOS: A Look Inside Clearfield County Courthouse’s Bell Tower

Clearfield County’s first courthouse was built in 1814 on the present site, which was donated by Abraham Witmer, according to the county historical society’s Web site.

The present courthouse was completed in 1862 and an addition in 1882.  Shown here are the stairs leading to the floor holding the bell located in the courthouse as well as the bell itself.
