Curwensville Man Charged in Alleged Assault

CURWENSVILLE – A Curwensville man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a woman.

Darrin A. Anderson, 53, is charged by Trooper Emerson Miller of the Clearfield-based state police with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. His bail is currently set at $10,000 unsecured.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred during the early-morning hours March 21 at a River Road residence in Pike Township, according to the affidavit.

Upon arrival on-scene, Miller made contact with the victim outside and she said she and her husband, Anderson, had gotten into a physical altercation.

She said Anderson had knocked her tooth out and she showed it to the trooper while holding it in her hand.

When asked what happened, the victim told the trooper she and Anderson were inside having some drinks when he began to make derogatory comments towards her.

When she went to use the bathroom, she said Anderson grabbed her, put his arm around her neck and jaw and then threw her on the floor. She said he also jammed his hand against her mouth, knocking her tooth out.
