State police at Rockview
- State police received a report about an alleged indecent assault that occurred Feb. 23 on North Ninth Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police have initiated an investigation into a trespassing and criminal mischief incident at the Buck Run Amish School in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County. Sometime between Jan. 15 and Feb. 20, state police say a male suspect arrived in a black sports utility vehicle and gained entry through an unlocked door. Once inside, he allegedly opened up all the windows and turned up the natural gas heater. The suspect was accompanied to the scene by a female and a young boy and fled on state Route 310 on Allison Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.
- State police received a report about a possible incident of harassment that occurred Monday on Railroad Street in Westover Borough, Clearfield County. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report of child endangerment that occurred sometime between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31 of 2019 on Moore Road in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County. According to state police, it was found that a 16-year-old Punxsutawney girl was forced to take several Xanax pills. The next day, she was admitted to a local hospital for a suspected overdose. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police reported an incident of DUI occurred Feb. 16 in the area of the Mahaffey – Grampian Highway and McFadden Road in Penn Township, Clearfield County. According to state police, a 46-year-old Curwensville woman pulled up to the scene of a vehicle fire. Contact was made and she was told the roadway would be open for traffic shortly; additionally, it was found she was under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to the Clearfield-based state police barracks where she submitted to a breath test; charges are expected to be filed through the district court.
- State police reported a drug-related DUI occurred Feb. 14 in the area of Main Street and West River Road in Burnside Borough, Clearfield County. According to state police, a traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Barry Goss of Cherry Tree for a summary traffic violation. However, he allegedly failed to stop and fled from troopers who deployed two Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuvers that were unsuccessful. State police say Goss’ vehicle eventually came to a stop at a residence, but a foot pursuit ensued after which Goss was taken into custody. Upon further investigation, it was found Goss was under the influence of a controlled substance and he was taken to Clearfield County Jail.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted a motorist with unlocking his vehicle on East Cherry Street.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on East Locust Street. No injuries were reported as a result.
- Police received a report about a physical domestic dispute between a father and son on West Market Street. Upon arrival, officers diffused the situation but allegedly located controlled substances and multiple items of paraphernalia.
- Police received a report about a lost wallet.
- Police responded to a reported mental health emergency during which a female threatened to harm herself. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made and she told officers that the comment was not literal and made out of frustration.
- Police received a report about a verbal altercation between two males. According to police, one male fled the area on foot prior to officers’ arrival on-scene. When police located the male, he was allegedly heavily intoxicated, and determined to have an active warrant. He was subsequently taken into custody by police.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a physical domestic assault in progress Tuesday on Dorey Street Extension. According to police, upon arrival on-scene, 36-year-old Roman Jarvis of Clearfield was observed throwing items from the residence into the yard. Because he was visibly agitated, he was detained by officers; the investigation revealed that he allegedly choked the victim, dragged her down stairs and threw her outside. He also spit in her face several items, police say, adding it was believed Jarvis was under the influence of a controlled substance. Following a search of Jarvis’ person, police found he was in possession of a controlled substance. He was then taken to the Clearfield County Jail due to his level of intoxication, and charges were filed for simple assault, drug possession, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Sandy Township
- On Feb. 21, police were contacted by Snappy’s Convenience Store employees who reported the receipt of another counterfeit $50 bill, and that it was possibly from the same individual from the previous date. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- On Feb. 21, police were contacted by a 31-year-old South Brady Street woman who reported that someone removed some tools and two bags of miscellaneous items from the garage behind her house.
- Police received a report about a suspicious woman/vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Feb. 21. Upon arrival on-scene, officers saw a 35-year-old Kersey woman jumping around inside her vehicle. Officers made contact with the woman who allegedly admitted to having recently used drugs. She contacted a friend to come provide her with transportation; charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Feb. 21, police were contacted by a 37-year-old Treasure Lake woman who reported that she heard someone at her door, but when she checked, she didn’t find anyone there. Officers also checked the area with negative results.
- On Feb. 21, police received a report about a man who appeared to have dozed off inside a vehicle in a parking lot. Upon arrival on-scene, an officer found the man inside a local store, and he was OK. He said he was on his way home from work, and had been on his phone out in his car.
- Police responded to a Hanes Drive residence three, separate times for reported domestic disturbances between a 35-year-old woman and her 44-year-old boyfriend. According to police, the couple repeatedly engaged in verbal arguments and each requested for officers to have the other leave the apartment. Police handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a minor commercial vehicle crash that involved two tractor-trailers at the Falls Creek Sheetz on Feb. 22. Police say one driver left the scene without providing any information.
- Police responded to a reported two-vehicle crash Feb. 22 in Sandy Township. According to police, an 18-year-old Brookville man pulled his vehicle into the path of another vehicle at a posted stop sign in the area of Midway and Industrial drives. Moderate to major damage and no injuries were reported as a result. It was also noted that the man was cited for the stop sign violation.
- Police were contacted by a Blinker Parkway man who reported that sometime overnight Feb. 23, someone hit and damaged his mailbox.
- On Feb. 23, police received a report of a possible intoxicated male in the O’Reilly Auto Parts store. While en route to the scene, officers passed a male motorist and when his vehicle was stopped, he was allegedly found to be under the influence. He had a relative respond to provide him with transportation; charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Monday police stopped a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Munson woman in the area of Circle Road for a traffic violation. According to police, she was found to have an active warrant, and that her vehicle had a license plate for a different vehicle. Additionally, police say her vehicle’s inspection was expired and it wasn’t insured. Police took the woman into custody on the warrant, and charges are pending for the violations.
