Curwensville Borough Council Changes Meeting Times

CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville Borough Council will be getting a little earlier next month.

At Monday’s meeting, the council voted to hold committee meetings beginning at 5:15 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month.

The individual committees will hold short meetings to discuss any items of business, then the full council will vote on the items at the conclusion of the committee meetings.

Council member Tom Carfley suggested the council hold the committee meetings, similar to ways the meetings were conducted in previous years.

Also, at the meeting, council member Dave Donahue said a bid opening will be held on Friday for the Thompson and Walnut Street stormwater project.

Donahue then added that the street department took some time during the recent warm weather to sweep the hills and bridges in order to keep the anti-skid material from building up in the inlets during periods of rain.

Donahue said the department won’t be sweeping the entire town until April.

In other business, the council thanked the fire department for all its hard work and dedication, then voted to approve getting bids from Lezzer Lumber to replace windows in the borough offices.
