Penn State Extension to Hold Clearfield Crops Day

CLEARFIELD – People are invited to join the Field & Forage Crops Team of Penn State Extension, as it reviews the 2019 crop year and looks to new innovations for the coming season.

The Clearfield County Crops Day will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds, located off U.S. Route 322 northwest of Clearfield.

United Nations declared 2020 “The International Year of Plant Health” and the focus for the event.

The program will begin promptly at 10 a.m. with new Penn State Extension Water Resources Educator Danielle Rhea followed by Penn State University Soil Specialist Charles White with discussion on nitrogen management and other soil fertility concepts and end by 2 p.m. with a few presentations on corn and forage diseases and mycotoxins.

There will be a $15 fee to cover lunch for those that register by Feb. 1.  Late registrations and walk-ins will be $20.
